Job Opening – CNC Programmer / Set-Up (First Shift)

Baron Machine is looking for a motivated candidate capable of working in a demanding environment where time sensitive projects and over-time are the norm. The person who applies for this position should have an extensive knowledge of the machine tool trade. This person should have experience using Surfcam, and Solidworks, be extremely fluent with “G, and M” code programming. The successful candidate will be able to Program, Set-up, and operate a variety of CNC machining centers with Fanuc, and Yasnac controls. Horizontal milling experience is a plus.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyze job orders, drawings, and blueprints then perform necessary calculations for programming and set up
  • Write, optimize, or modify CNC programs to create parts on machining centers
  • Develop work holding and select cutting tools
  • Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines
  • Run simulations as needed to insure machine(s) are correctly set up
  • Integrate work with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Scheduling Departments to ensure a smooth flow of quality products through the facility
  • Work to deadlines

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years experience writing CNC programs and “G” and “M” code programing and Fanuc controls
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Surfcam and SolidWorks software a plus
  • Program, Set-up, and operate Vertical and Horizontal CNC Mills — experience with Protrak lathes a plus
  • Proficient with GD
  • Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects
  • Ability to work in high stress, high expectation environment
