Laconia, NH – Baron Machine Company has recently announced the succession of Jeremy Baron as Owner of the local metal fabrication and machining provider. Baron, now with the company for 18 years, began as a saw room attendant. He then worked his way through the company by learning how to operate many of the machines in the different departments, and did some welding as well. Jeremy eventually moved on to project engineering, followed by sales management, and eventually moved into the Vice President’s role back in 2008.
Baron will be taking the seat of his father, Kim Baron, who served as company owner from 1970 to 2015, during which time he helped the company grow from a small 8 man (person) shop, with critical upgrades to both equipment and capabilities. Similar to his son’s trajectory in the family-owned business, Baron Sr. started at the company as a janitor. He would come home from school (while the company was still located in the garage of the Baron’s Harvard street home) and sweep the floors, and eventually succeeded his father as company Owner in 1970.
This announcement makes Baron Machine Company a third generation family business, a fact which both father and son are both very proud of. Jeremy Baron explains, “We take being a small, family business seriously. From the way we operate internally to our relationships with long-standing customers and vendors, it’s become ingrained in the way we do everything.”
In his time at Baron Machine, Jeremy Baron has already demonstrated his ability to lead by deftly managing fabrication and machining projects for the aerospace industry and beyond, and working with local organizations and colleges to make skilled labor an attractive field for young adults in the lakes region. Baron Machine Company as a whole is excited to welcome another generation of Baron Ownership.
