{"id":232,"date":"2021-05-03T21:13:06","date_gmt":"2021-05-03T21:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.baronmachine.com\/news\/?p=232"},"modified":"2021-05-07T20:45:11","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T20:45:11","slug":"baron-machine-achieves-cmmc-nist-cybersecurity-framework-compliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/baronmachine.com\/news\/baron-machine-achieves-cmmc-nist-cybersecurity-framework-compliance\/","title":{"rendered":"Baron Machine Achieves CMMC &#038; NIST Cybersecurity Framework Compliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Baron Machine is proud to announce the successful acquisition of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and NIST Cybersecurity Framework compliance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On January 31, 2020, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) released version 1.0 of CMMC as part of a tiered approach to defense contractor compliance with NIST SP 800-171\u2014a cybersecurity baseline standard published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Upon the implementation of CMMC, government defense contractors are assigned one of five security levels, from \u201cBasic Cybersecurity Hygiene\u201d to \u201cAdvanced,\u201d with which government agencies can select contractors best suited for their project based on data security needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When news of this new security standard reached our headquarters in Laconia, New Hampshire, our Baron technicians closest to the Defense side of our business began taking proactive steps to fulfill the associated cybersecurity requirements. Our goal was to achieve the maturity level required to continue serving the types of DoD contracts we have won in the past\u2014as well as those we would seek to hold moving forward.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From our perspective, CMMC introduced a new way for us to demonstrate to our clients and partners within the defense industry that Baron Machine is dedicated to establishing data practices of the utmost safety.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2020, an appropriate cybersecurity risk assessment was executed to comply with these requirements, with all necessary changes implemented by March 2021.
